- Born the eldest of four boys in Bucharest, Romania to parents Roland, a science teacher and Marie, a dress maker.
- Was a bit of an A.D.D child growing up. You couldn't keep him settled down. He was always running around doing something. He was a bit of a handfull at times, but that was because of all of his energy.
- In school, he kept top knotch grades and was very straight laced. He was also dubbed a geek due to his roles in glee club, band, and even the church choir. He just loved to be a part of music and he loved to sing.
- At age twelve, he took up playing the piano and was insturcted by a classically trained pianist. He would spend four years under the wing of this instructor. He took to it very easily and made beautiful music that way.
- At the age of fifteen, his mother and father bought him his very first guitar. He was self-taught on guitar, and adapted just as easily to guitar as he did piano and had the swagger of a rock star without even realizing it.
- He graduated at the age of eighteen, and was valedictorian for his class. He went on to college to study art and drama, two things that interested him a lot in school. After spending five years in college, he graduated.
- During his string in college, he formed a band with a few other friends that he would go through several name changes with. Eventually, they decided on the name "Uprising". They played several small gigs in Europe during the time Marius had in college. They wrote their own music and covered some songs simply because it was fun.
- During the band's string of gigs in Europe, they were discovered by front man of Finnish rock band Hanoi Rocks, Michael Monroe. He dug the sound of the band and aided in getting them their first big break in music. Before, Marius never really thought of doing this as a career, but after their first big gig? He knew he belonged in music.
- Uprising would spend a great deal of time gaining a cult following in Europe before they gained international success with their third full-length album, Absolution. The band became a smash success and are well known rock heroes the world-over and Marius has never forgotten to mention Michael Monroe in interviews and the like for their big break.
- Currently, Uprising have released three albums, with massive tours that have supported them and are currently on break, writing for their next record. In an interview, the band has been throwing around the title for their fourth album and the front runner is "Black Holes and Revelations."
- The band has also garnered several awards in their time out. Most notably, they've won a handfull of Kerrang! awards in the past decade. In 2001, they won Best British Band; In 2002 they won Best British Live Act; and in 2006 they won Best Live Act.
- Marius owns a home in West Chester, Pennsylvania where he and his band are writing for their next album. It's a quiet little space for him to keep his thoughts in-check. Not many know that he owns a home in West Chester, and that suits him just fine because he's not one for paparazzi and the like.
- Marius has a few biological issues he has dealt with from an early age. High blood pressure being the top front-running, a trait he inherited from his father. He is on medication to control it. He's also a diabetic who has to inject insulin every day to stay alive, and one of his worst problems is that he has chronic migraines. His migraines can tend to come at just about any time and they're more intense than a hangover. He often takes strong medication before he goes on stage to prevent him from getting one while performing.
- Marius is a very quiet person now that he is older. The littlest things fascinate him, which is one of the things he never lost growing up. He loves astronomy and the theory that there may just be other life on other planets or perhaps alternate universes. He loves science fiction. Things that actually make you use your brain.
- Speaks several different languages. English, Romanian, French, German, and Finnish. He's fluent in all of them and uses them when he needs to. He's brushing up on other languages such as Korean, Italian and Japanese for his trips out to other countries. He values knowing how to communicate with locals.
- Is an advocate of the "marry a girl with a brain rather than for looks" theory. He learned that the hard way. Growing up, he didn't have girls chasing him down because he was the nerd. He never dated until he got older and into a band. When his band achieved European success, he wound up a bit jaded and made the mistake of marrying a Romanian model who had absolutely no intentions of loving him. She only gave him false love, and made him think she liked him simply to bleed him dry of his money. Thankfully, his manager was smart enough to see through the cracks and in their settlement, had a statement saying that should they split up, she could not get a red cent of his money. Marius is thankful for that every single day.
- Again, Marius is divorced and single. Because he's getting "up there in age", he has no really big intentions of getting married again and he rarely dates. He'd rather stay focused on his career and make music for millions.
